Welcome to the Napier Photography website, which presents the photographic work of Ian Napier. Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, I offer a complete service using digital photography, including:

ABOUT ME…

I grew up in the 1960s and served 16 years in the Royal Navy working in communications, travelling the world. Then came a career working in the graphics industry as a graphic designer. Whilst this satisfied my creative urges, photography had always been important.   

I'd usually carried a camera as a means of recording some of the many spectacular places visited and events encountered. Most of the results of this early photography was for personal consumption only, and a lot of it went in the bin - so I took a year out to train formally, and started working as a freelance photographer alongside my graphic design work.

WHAT I DO…

I love weddings! Because your wedding is going to be one of the most special days of your life, you need to be able to rely on it being photographed right first time – there are no second chances.

I don’t do “packages” because to me all weddings are different – different people, different places and importantly different budgets. So I offer a bespoke service, tailored to your needs, where you can pick and choose what elements you want for your special day.

All work is carried out by me, using high-end digital equipment, from the initial photography, through retouching, printing, and album creation. DVD creation is also produced “in house”.

PORTRAITS, PORTFOLIOS & PEOPLE

Pictures of people, families, models, fine-art, you name it, I’ll shoot it. I create modern people photography using Nikon high-end digital capture for outstanding quality. Studio or location, it’s your choice.

And you can be sure of sensible pricing, I won’t lure you in with special offers and then charge the earth for prints. Portrait sessions start at £75 for around 90 minutes, and includes two 8x10 prints and a gallery of all shots on cd for you to view on your pc. Further prints are charged at reasonable rates, depending on size and material – call me for further details.
